A WORD OF WARNING TO READERS:<\/strong>
\nThe gospel of Jesus is an idea about which most Christians are very passionate. It is predictable that this series of page will arouse those passions. This arousal will happen because Christians strongly believe that their idea of the gospel is absolutely correct<\/a> and because what they will learn in this series of pages is that their idea of the gospel is not the same as God’s idea.<\/span><\/p>\n

These pages will arouse anger in many Christians because God’s word is a consuming fire and a refining fire<\/a>. Anger, therefore, is the predicted response that Old\/First Covenant<\/a> religious people will experience when they compare the true gospel identified in these pages with the false gospel<\/a> that they have believed in.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some, perhaps most, readers will get angry and quit reading. And a few will be humbled<\/a> to learn God’s idea of the true gospel. Those who are humbled are submitting to God’s plan to refine them<\/a> by giving them the ability to hear his spoken word. Those who get angry or are unaffected by what they read will remain sick, blind and deaf in their religious convictions.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

GOSPEL WORD STUDY<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe word “gospel” appears in the New Testament ninety-four<\/a> times in the NASB version. Gospel does not appear at all in the Old Testament, but the phrase “good news” appears five times<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the New Testament, the Greek word Euaggelizo<\/span><\/a> is a verb that conveys the idea of bringing or preaching good news or preaching, speaking or bringing the gospel. This word appears fifty-two times<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another Greek word Euaggelion<\/span><\/a> is a noun that is translated as “good news” and “gospel.” This word appears seventy-three times. The gospel that is a noun, therefore, is a thing, or an idea<\/a>. And the gospel that is a verb is an activity (i.e. something you do).<\/a> Together these words convey God’s idea of a dynamic, active gospel — not just an idea. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a>When Christians think of the gospel, they commonly use it in the noun form:<\/span><\/p>\n
