Here are a few of the ways that they think serving and shepherding is accomplished:<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 99.9998%;\" border=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 4.71792%;\"><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 4.71793%;\"><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 45.282%;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Preaching\/teaching.<\/li>\n<li>Evangelism.<\/li>\n<li>Worshiping in a church\/synagogue or at a conference.<\/li>\n<li>Praying.<\/li>\n<li>Studying the Bible alone or with others.<\/li>\n<li>Work in the office of a church or ministry.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer maintenance or building projects for a church or ministry or poor people.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer to give people rides to church.<\/li>\n<li>Use writing talents to produce books or create websites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 45.282%;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Ushering and greeting at church.<\/li>\n<li>Engaging in fellowship with other believers.<\/li>\n<li>Use musical talents in church or concerts.<\/li>\n<li>Work in the church kitchen for religious events.<\/li>\n<li>Work in the church nursery or teach Sunday school.<\/li>\n<li>Give money to a church or ministry.<\/li>\n<li>Helping the poor.<\/li>\n<li>Counseling people with problems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Because most of the work items in this list are done voluntarily, people believe that they serve God by giving their time and labor support religious activities, ministries and institutions. It all seems very noble and sacrificial and is a great source of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/religion\/religion-is-not-faith\/pride\/2\">pride<\/a> for religious people. The problem is, however, that all these activities are nothing more than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/religion\/flesh\">flesh in motion<\/a> in God&#8217;s eyes. These activities do not serve God. They serve <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/religion\/religion-is-the-enemy\">God&#8217;s enemy: religion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the serving\/shepherding work is accomplished by paid professionals such as pastors, teachers in religious schools, evangelists, and leaders of specialized ministries which are often identified by the name of the lead person. Even though these people are paid for their work, they still think of themselves as servants. They are the ones who benefit from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/religion\/religion-is-not-faith\/religion-is-commerce\/examples-of-business-and-commerce-in-religion\">commercial religion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All of this religious activity is very different from the one purpose of a Godly servant whose only job is to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/passage\/?q=1-corinthians+2;+john+7:16;+john+12:49-50;+john+14:10;+john+14:24-31;+john+16:13;+1-corinthians+2:12-13;+psalm+143:10;+luke+12:11-12;+matthew+10:17-20;+mark+13:11;+1-thessalonians+2:13;+exodus+4:12;+deuteronomy+18:18;+john+5:19;+matthew+26:39;+john+5:30;+john+6:38;+john+6:68;+john+8:28;+acts+4:29-31\">speak for God<\/a> and to mediate between God and man.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 160px;\">STUDY TIP: See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/symbols-signs-types-copies-shadows-and-patterns\/people\/true-prophets\/messiah\/3\">this link for understanding of mediation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>God also calls his servants <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/symbols-signs-types-copies-shadows-and-patterns\/people\/true-prophets\">true prophets<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/symbols-signs-types-copies-shadows-and-patterns\/people\/angels\">angels<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/symbols-signs-types-copies-shadows-and-patterns\/people\/true-prophets\/messiah\">messiahs<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/symbols-signs-types-copies-shadows-and-patterns\/people\/true-prophets\/the-high-priest\">high priests<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/gods-written-word-and-gods-spoken-voice\/the-law\/two-covenants-part-2\/7#witnessdefined\">witnesses<\/a>, servants, shepherds and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/symbols-signs-types-copies-shadows-and-patterns\/people\/true-prophets\/model-warriors\">warriors.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The principle of by speaking for God is found in Jesus who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/nas\/passage\/?q=john+10:11-14;+john+10:27;+john+10:1-5\">leads by using his voice<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewaywesee.com\/religiondetoxnetwork\/mystery\/symbols-signs-types-copies-shadows-and-patterns\/people\/true-prophets\/jesus\/5\">speak God&#8217;s words<\/a>.
