1<\/a>\u00a0Then I saw \u201ca new heaven and a new earth,\u201d\u00a0for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.<\/td>\nSee this link<\/a> for understanding of the new heaven and this link<\/a> for understanding of the new earth.<\/p>\n

The fact of a new heaven and a new earth indicates that there is also an old heaven and an old earth. The old heaven and the old earth are the evil, impure hearts<\/a> of Old Covenant<\/a> religionists. The old heaven and old earth are also the literal interpretations of heaven and earth.<\/p>\n

The new heaven and the new earth represent the clean, pure hearts<\/a> of New Covenant<\/a> disciples<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The passing away of the first heaven and earth represents death to religion in the hearts of people who were formerly Old Covenant<\/a> religionists. See\u00a0Death, Resurrection, New Life, Salvation, Forgiveness, Tribulation, Heaven and Hell<\/a><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Death<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

2<\/a>\u00a0I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.<\/td>\nSee this link<\/a> for understanding of the new Jerusalem.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3<\/a>\u00a0And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, \u201cLook! God\u2019s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.<\/td>\nGod’s throne is the heart of New Covenant<\/a> disciples<\/a>. The loud voice is God’s voice. The voice says that he now dwells in the heart of that particular New Covenant<\/a> disciples.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

What dwells in people is God’s Spoken Word.<\/a> From that point on the one who hears God’s voice will no longer listen to the voices of religious leaders who were the gods that Old\/First Covenant<\/a> religious people listen to and obey.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

4<\/a>\u00a0\u2018He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death\u2019\u00a0or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.\u201d<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5<\/a>\u00a0He who was seated on the throne said, \u201cI am making everything new!\u201d Then he said, \u201cWrite this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.\u201d<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6<\/a>\u00a0He said to me: \u201cIt is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
7<\/a>\u00a0Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
8<\/a>\u00a0But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars\u2014they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.\u201d<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
9<\/a>\u00a0One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, \u201cCome, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.\u201d<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
10<\/a>\u00a0And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
11<\/a>\u00a0It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
12<\/a>\u00a0It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
13<\/a>\u00a0There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
14<\/a>\u00a0The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
15<\/a>\u00a0The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
16<\/a>\u00a0The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia\u00a0in length, and as wide and high as it is long.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
17<\/a>\u00a0The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits\u00a0thick.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
18<\/a>\u00a0The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
19<\/a>\u00a0The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
20<\/a>\u00a0the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
21<\/a>\u00a0The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
22<\/a>\u00a0I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
23<\/a>\u00a0The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
24<\/a>\u00a0The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
25<\/a>\u00a0On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
26<\/a>\u00a0The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
