CHECKLIST FOR IDENTIFYING TRUE PROPHETS
Now that we have discussed the function of a prophet and discussed false prophets, it is time to look at true prophets who are also called angels , messiahs , high priests , witnesses , and warriors. Here is a checklist that will help identify them:
Before they were anointed by God to speak for God , they were false prophets who spoke out of the evil imaginations of their minds to religious people who practice Old/First Covenant religion.
God’s New Covenant laws are written on their hearts.
They will have a sense of inadequacy to speak .
They do not participate in commercial religion in any way.
Their lives will fulfill Jesus’ personal qualities and ministry functions.
They put no trust in the teaching of man .

They are not proud .
They understand the difference between religion and faith .
They practice pure religion, not defiled religion .
They are not man-pleasers who seek praise and recognition when they do their religious activities in public.
They warn about listening to false prophets.
They will not make names for themselves through public ministries.
They do not fear what others will say or do when they speak the truth.
They do not seek or enjoy good reputations .
They do nothing out of selfish ambition that would exalt them in the religious community or advance them financially.
They speak truth about religion being sin and slavery .
They see it as their mission to tear down idols and destroy high places of religion to prepare the way for the establishment of the Kingdom of God in the hearts of God’s people.
They do not stay in one place to do their ministry. Rather they, like Jesus, are on the go and shake the dust off their feet and move on when their message is not received.
They are a voice crying in the wilderness of religion encouraging religious people to repent for practicing religion and to listen to God’s voice .
They will confront and rebuke religious leaders about their sin .
They are lawbreakers with respect to religious laws made and enforced by men.
They are obedient to God’s spiritual laws .

They trust that God will give them words to speak when necessary.
They expect that people will not listen to them , but they teach anyway.
They always interpret the Bible symbolically and never interpret it literally.
They are willing to suffer and die for the sake of others who will have new life because they spoke God’s word to them.
They have a sense of having been enslaved to religion before they were delivered from religion .
They will have a strong desire to see religious people set free from religion .
True prophets will more likely be received well by people who do not know them than by people who do know them.
They have no need or desire to brand/identify themselves as prophets or promote their prophecies for commercial gain.
Their identity (i.e. name) is the word of God that they speak .
They do not identify themselves with religious labels or titles that indicate that they have special knowledge or spiritual qualifications.
They do not itch tickling ears with smooth/ flattering talk that entertains and comforts religious people.
They do not practice public religion .
They identify with people in the Bible who are called true prophets , angels, messiahs , high priests , witnesses , warriors and apostles , but they do not make any public claims about the fact that God has sent them to speak for him .
This checklist is useful for evaluating anyone who presumes to speak for God or teach others about God. If all of these qualities are not present, anyone who presumes to speak for God or teach about God may be rightly judged as a false prophet and not a true prophet.
In particular, the checklist should be used to evaluate pastors, priests, rabbis, elders, bishops, and all others who have reputations as spiritual spokespersons, writers and teachers. After such an evaluation, all religious leaders will be found to be lying, false prophets who wrongly dispense their judgements (i.e. opinions) about God’s laws in exchange for a financial reward.
