NOTE TO READERS: This page was sent as an email to a select group of journalists and scholars who write about religion. The principles may be applied to any patriotic American who is willing to invest time and energy to share truth with their fellow Americans.
Greetings:
I have reasons to believe that you are concerned about Christian Nationalism. Me too. Considering our mutual interest in Christian Nationalism, I am taking the liberty of sharing some of my writings with you as news tips with hopes you might find them useful in your own journalistic efforts.
The general theme of my material is the intersection of religion (i.e. Christianity) and politics with an emphasis on religious beliefs that shape Christian Nationalism. I look at the things Christian Nationalists claim to believe and report how their political beliefs and behaviors do not line up with their professed biblical beliefs. What I find in these comparisons religious beliefs that enable the Christian Nationalism movement.
I understand that journalists need to be careful when reporting about religion. Those cautions do not apply with respect to my news tips because I do not write about religious beliefs and practices based on disputable interpretations of scripture that inspire multitudes of faiths. I focus on scriptures that are not disputable because they are written in plain language that cannot be misinterpreted or debated by reasonable people — including people who are not religious.
Christian Nationalists’ political and religious zeal is based on wrong interpretations of symbolic scripture and ignorance of unambiguous truths about love, hate and injustice in scriptures that should be interpreted literally. Therefore, they totally miss what God wants everyone — religious and nonreligious — to learn about loving one another with Godly love.. I am compelled to write about these matters because this pattern of wrong belief has led to generations of abuse and exploitation in both religion and politics and the only way to change the pattern is to change hearts and minds by sharing truth.
Wrong religious beliefs constitute lies with respect to the standard of truth found in the bible. The truths I write about are confirmed by scriptures that Christian Nationalists falsely claim to believe and follow as reliable guides for politics and religion. Unlike lies disguised as truth by Christian Nationalists in the realms of politics and religion, the truth I report is straight from the bible. This truth cannot be refuted with twisted logic, alternative facts and more lies. To reject this truth would mean rejecting the God and the Jesus Christian Nationalists claim to love, trust and obey.
Christian Nationalists readily and aggressively argue against challenges to their political policies but, if they truly trust God, they can’t argue about what the bible says. Therein exists the only way to change their minds and hearts. My goal is to break into their exclusive echo chambers with these truths. If that is your goal also, you will find my News Tips interesting and maybe even useful.
I understand that this is all very abstract, but this is the best I can do to introduce you to the News Tips which will be coming soon. If you don’t want to receive these tips, just let me know.
Until next time,
Paul Borene
